LAMDA Acting
Ages 8-18
In LAMDA Acting, performers delve into character exploration while honing their physical and vocal abilities. As they progress through the grades, their understanding of script context deepens, and their capacity to convey the character’s story through performance grows richer and more compelling.
LAMDA grades can be pursued solo, as a duo, or in a group, with each level building on the last. This structure allows performers to acquire new skills, gain a deeper knowledge of theatre, and bring to life extracts from a diverse range of playwrights and historical eras.
LAMDA Musical Theatre
Ages 8-18
In LAMDA Musical Theatre, performers refine their acting skills through song, showcasing strong vocal technique and a polished performance while bringing the character and story to life within a musical theatre piece.
Progress through the LAMDA grades as a solo, duo, or group, with each level enhancing the experience. As they advance, performers incorporate scripts to create more dynamic, well-rounded performances, while deepening their understanding of musical theatre through the study of its rich history.
LAMDA Verse & Prose
Ages 4-18
In LAMDA Verse & Prose exams, performers explore and present poetry and prose, cultivating skills in voice, literature, and memorization, while enhancing their performance through expressive delivery and audience engagement.
As they progress through the grades, performers showcase a profound understanding of diverse writers, including William Shakespeare, and tackle increasingly complex texts, such as sonnets, with confidence and depth.
LAMDA Speaking in Public
Ages 8-18
In LAMDA Speaking in Public, performers master the art of crafting impactful speeches tailored to a specific audience. They research and write their own speeches, refining their vocal and physical skills, while incorporating a visual aid and delivering from memory with the support of note cards as prompts.
As they advance through the grades, the demands of the Speaking in Public exams increase, requiring greater skill and finesse. In higher grades, performers demonstrate versatility and expertise by delivering an impromptu speech alongside two prepared speeches, showcasing their growth as confident, adaptable speakers.
